What is kept

A Map Check you do not save is not kept: it is worked out and shown, then forgotten. A saved map is kept in your Keyring: the optional website or business name, the provider names, answers, dates and notes you typed. No personal name, email address, account or password is asked for, and the form tries to refuse text that looks like a password, card number, recovery code or email address.

Cookies

Two strictly necessary cookies: one holds your Keyring's key on this browser (only if you start or open a Keyring), one protects forms against cross-site requests. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts or fonts.

Limits and logs

To stop abuse, the number of new Keyrings and open attempts is counted per day against a scrambled (salted hash) form of your network address; those counts are deleted after 3 days. The web server keeps standard access logs (address, time, page) for its normal security and troubleshooting purposes. Map answers are sent in the form body, never in the page address, so they do not appear in those logs, and neither does a Keyring's private link.

Backups and deletion

The site makes a nightly copy of its database and keeps each one 14 days. The server it runs on also takes its own account backups, which rotate out after about a month, and WeldonPC.com keeps off-site archive copies of its servers for disaster recovery, which are not deleted on a fixed schedule. You can delete your Keyring and every map in it at any time from the Keyring page: it is gone from the live site at once, but can stay in those backup copies after that. Backups are used only to restore the site after a failure, never to look at, use or share what is in a map. Keyrings not opened for 400 days are deleted.
